What are large studio clamps used for?

This is a standard universal plastic clamp with a strong spring for attaching paper studio backgrounds, background fabrics or collapsible reflectors to a bar or tube. The clamp prevents the background roller from unwinding . The movable red ends at the end of the pliers allow stable and uniform pressure on the clamped object .

These large pliers have an opening of 10cm maximum and measure approximately 20cm long.
