What are the rectangular wooden cubes painted white used for?
This rectangular wooden cube measuring 75x50x50 cm is an essential accessory for taking your photos in the studio . Used by many professionals to seat their models. It is perfect for portrait and family photographers to pose young children, but also adults. Individual portrait or group photo can be taken using these cubes so that some people are standing and others sitting. The posing cube allows you to create several heights and give dimension to your group portraits.
Are these wooden boxes made in France?
Yes 100%. Handmade by our partner carpenter in Ile-de-France, the cubes are all handmade in wood from French forests. The cubes are made from 10mm thick poplar plywood. Their structure has been designed and considered to be as solid as possible thanks to the battens that compose it and which mean that the structure rests on 4 battens forming feet for the cube. As you will have understood, this cube is made up of five full sides and one empty side for more stability and to allow you to store things underneath. No visible nails, all faces are glued together, thus zero spacing and zero screws to remove during retouching. Conscientious work was done from cutting to gluing, including sanding and white painting, no industrial process, everything is handmade.
Each piece is unique, the wood and paint may therefore have different roughness from one piece to another. The water-based paint used does not make the cube 100% opaque, leaving the grooves of the poplar wood visible, depending on your light or the orientation of the cubes, this can be made more or less visible.
